Adriatic Coast Beach Hotels & Resorts

Croatia’s Adriatic Coast refers to the stretch of land along the Adriatic Sea, which separates the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan regions. It’s characterized by turquoise blue seas, white sand beaches, and some of the most stunning and beautiful beach hotels that the world has known. This is the perfect vacation getaway if you want a romantic time away, or if you’d like to engage in some water sports. There are so many great places to stay along the Adriatic Coast, however in this list we’ve reviewed the top 15 beach hotels in the Adriatic Coast.

# 1

Falkensteiner Family Hotel Diadora

As the name suggests, Falkensteiner really is a family friendly hotel. It’s evident the moment you check in. There’s a special welcome sign meant for kids, and they also have a pedestal in place that kids can use to get up and see how the check in is done. In case your kids are getting fidgety, they can also be provided with some coloring sheets and colors so they can keep themselves occupied. The family suite is very spacious with two bedrooms, separate bathrooms with bath tubs, and plenty of natural light. The service is also quite thoughtful and you’d also find beach bags in your room with everything you could need in a beach, such as flip flops, towels, etc. There are a lot of facilities in the hotel. There are several pools, one outdoors pool, one separate whirlpool, a kids’ and toddler’s pool, and an indoors pool where kids can be taught how to swim by a professional. In case you’re with very small kids, they can also play in the playground. In addition to this, another hit with the kids is the petting zoo with a resident goat. The kid’s club is called Falky land and it’s a great place to leave your kids if you want some solo time. The hotel also features a disco club and a cinema hall. In addition to the facilities, the hotel is also located in a really good spot, just against a beach so that you get a proper view from the room. It’s also close to the Plitvice Lakes National Parks, and you can take day trips to the Kornati Islands, or the Nin and Pag Islands.

Hotel Monte Mulini

Hotel Monte is located on the side of a hill smack right on a beach, so that you can walk a few feet and into the waters. The hotel itself is surrounded by lush trees and foliage, and it’s very conveniently located. A short 15 minute stroll can bring you to Rovinj’s old town, which is one of the most beautiful towns in all of Croatia. All along the coast you can see a mess of brightly colored charming little houses rising out of the beaches, interspersed with tiny little alleyways. The hotel faces out towards the sea and as such the front face of the hotel is made entirely of glass so as to allow all the sunlight to penetrate through and offer a direct view of the beach. The guest rooms have been decorated in warm and earthy shades and colors. There are four infinity pools in the hotel, and one of them is shallow in consideration of the kids. The hotel spa stretches out across two floors, and it features a Turkish bath, a Finnish sauna, amongst other treatment rooms. There are 113 rooms and suites in the hotel, and all of them are luxurious with plenty of natural light, a separate bath tub and rain shower, and Croatian artworks gracing the walls. The two popular restaurants in the hotel are called Mediterraneo and the Wine Vault, the latter of which is designed like an underground wine cellar with stone floors and 600 wine casks, and they serve delicious french cuisine.

# 3

Valamar Crystal

The Valamar Crystal is located on the Istria waterfront, and it’s a short 15 minute walk away from the coast. It’s located in a manner so as to be removed from civilization and as such during the night you can only hear the sound of nature. The hotel can be used to book a number of activities. You can book a dolphin spotting tour, or you can even book a day trip to Venice. The hotel is designed in an extremely contemporary style with colorful plastic rocking chairs, and Moroccan cushions. The hotel bar is located outdoors, under the canopy of palm trees. The hotel shares grounds and facilities with the neighboring hotels Diamond and Rubin, and as such guests have a lot of ground to explore, and there are plenty of activities to engage in. The treetop children’s trail is a fun activity to participate in as a family, and if you’re more into adventure sports you can also rent kayaks, mountain bikes, and speedboats. Furthermore, you can even treat yourself to an amazing spa day or go to the hairdresser if you so choose. There are three swimming pools in the hotel, one indoors, one outdoors, and one for the kids. The only drawback to their otherwise brilliant beach hotel is the fact that their interior decor feels too functional and… well, boring, for lack of a better word. The carpets are all a dull shade of brown, and the furnitures lack character. Furthermore, you need to be careful while choosing the rooms as some of them face towards the car park instead of the beach.

# 4

# 5

However, if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is again the wrong place. The beach bar is always pumping out house music from loudspeakers, and as such it’s more suited for vacationers, party-goers, and 20somethings than it is for families and honeymooners. However, if you want to seek out a relatively quiet spot, you can head on over to their beach club called Bonj 'les bains’, however you have to shell out an additional €35 a day to gain access to it.
