Maldives Beach Hotels & Resorts

Maldives is an island country in South Asia, located on the Indian Ocean. It comprises a series of 26 reefs and atolls, all of which together comprises over a 1000 coral islands. Maldives is an extremely popular vacation and wedding destination because of its picturesque landscapes, blue lagoons, and crystal blue waters. Due to the presence of so many islands, it’s a hotspot for the presence of amazing resorts that can offer a variety of activities in true luxury style. In this article, we’ve listed out the 15 best beach hotels in Maldives.

# 1

Jumeirah Vittaveli

Jumeirah Vittaveli is a mere 20 minutes motor boat ride away from Male’s airport. The resort is a mix of various architectural influences. One of the most stunning aspects of this beach hotel is the Samsara restaurant, which has been designed in an extremely modern and contemporary style with angular roofs and glass walls that allow complete sunlight to flood in. The villas have been designed in the traditional Maldivian style with thatched and coral-clad roofs and exteriors, all of them facing outwards towards the white sand beaches and the big blue sea. The villas are all placed amongst dense vegetation and forestry, and as such you feel like you’re completely alone, thus lending you privacy when you need it. The villas are all spacious and luxurious with a swimming pool, a private garden, and even open-air showers. If you’d like to live directly over water, you can also ask for one of the over-water villas on the north-western Pierre. The service in this beach hotel is relaxed and chill, much like the vibe of the atoll that it’s on. You won’t find the kind of rushed and ingratiating servitude you would in some fancy city hotels. As for the activities, you can indulge yourself in the Asian style spa, or you can enroll yourself into the yoga classes. If you’re into water activities, you can also go to the water sports center which provides you with the necessary snorkeling gear, paddle boards, and even cycles to go around the beach.

Dusit Thani Maldives

The Dusit Thani is located amongst a long line of luxury beach hotel resorts in Baa Atoll. You’d find it in the same neighborhood as the other resorts Anantara and Four Seasons. The underwater life in this particular island is so rich and diverse that it has earned the status of being a World Biosphere Reserve, as determined by UNESCO. In fact, this is the only island in the country to have that honor, and as such it’s an extremely popular destination for travel. The resort is popular with guests from around the world, especially the middle eastern countries. The service in the hotel is beyond impeccable, they go out of their way to make you feel like all your needs are met. If you want a barbecue on the beach all for yourself, they’ll make that happen. Perhaps the best thing about this beach hotel is their availability of over-water villas, which you can approach by boat from the pierre. On the outside, these villas have palm leaves for roofs and bamboo thatched exteriors, however the insides are completely luxurious. The best part is that your balcony can take you directly into the blue lagoon. You have an option of three different restaurants with this hotel — the Market for breakfast, Sea Grill for lunch and dinner, and Bejarong for Thai dinner. The spa in the hotel is sensational and they have some lovely offers. However, the staff stations placed around the resort are quite ugly to look at even if they are necessary.
